Women Leaders at ImmoScout24: Aleksandra Petseva, Head of Product Innovation

Aleksandra joined us more than five years ago and started her career at the company as Product Manager Consumer- Business Unit: Commercial. She took some time to talk to us about her job, her achievements and what advices she has for other women.

What’s your position at the company?

Aleks: I am Head of Product Innovation - Business Unit: Commercial at Immoscout24. My job is to work in synergy with my awesome team, on the one hand, to build a professional, easy and efficient search for all businesses wanting to relocate and, on the other hand, to offer the best products to real estate agents and owners to market their properties successfully.

What has been your biggest achievement at ImmoScout24 so far?

Aleks: My team and I have launched a new Commercial search platform in 2018, tailored to the needs of the Commercial real estate world. This platform was the result of very hard work of almost 3 years and involved a lot of research and tests in order to achieve the best outcomes.

What energises you about your work?

Aleks: The real estate market in Germany is very dynamic and fast growing. I joined Scout24 5 years ago as I felt committed to the purpose of the company – in my specific area, it means helping business find their new “home base.” I enjoy working with my colleagues and every day we get challenged to offer the best possible products to our customers.

As a female leader you are a role model to others. Who’s your role model?

Aleks: I have huge respect Mary Jackson (you might know her from the book or film Hidden Figures), who is an American mathematician and aerospace engineer at NASA. In 1958 she became NASA's first African American female engineer. I admire her talent, her drive and strength to make a significant impact for NASA but also to prove women can be equal professionals in all fields. And I also admire many other women such as Ellen Degeneres who had the drive and courage to follow their professional passion instead of giving up.

How do you unplug from work?

Aleks: I go boulder because I love this sport – discovered it with my team a few years ago. Also, I am a Netflix addict and love good and inspiring movies such as The Queen's Gambit.

Is there an advice you would want to give to other women?

Aleks: As Michelle Obama says: Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered. And I can add: Do not doubtle yourself if you don’t achieve the results immediately. Hard work and motivation always pay off in the end – never give up!
